A SMILE TAKES YOU A LONG WAY
There are many street artists scattered in and around the Auckland city, while some offer really nice repertoires, others make a few noise and want to make a living out of it. Although I appreciate that busking makes a city seem more vibrant and culturally more attractive, I seldom take a few extra steps to make them a donation. On Good Friday afternoon I saw this busker on Queen Street and sat next to him there was this lady clapping and cheering for him. In that very moment I took out my camera and started photographing him playing the guitar. It was happy and harmonious. He gave me a generous smile and continued singing. I was particularly drawn by his music and singing, but it wasn’t such a smile, I doubt I would ever turn around and make my donation.
